EUROVIP in a nutshell
Two years long European project EuroVIP shows how volunteer experience can be a winning card in terms of employability and provides key actors of the labour market with tools to actually valorize such an experience. Acronym of European Volunteer Inclusion Program, the experimental project involved more than 300 participants who were familiarized and trained to use EuroVIP’s tools.
EuroVIP was developed in Romania, France, Belgium, Germany and in the UK in order to strengthen the recognition of skills and competences acquired by young volunteers. Over 300 EuroVIP participants from the following categories have been involved:
- Volunteers (240)
- Volunteering organisations (62),
- Companies (60).
More in depth EuroVIP actions developed between May 2016 and 2018 followed specific strategic goals.
Better valorize volunteering
The Portfolio supporting individuals in the identification of competences gained through informal learning contexts, to volunteering activities, has been designed (based on the previous ProfilPass). Adapted in 4 languages, EuroVIP Portfolio has been in the heart of 3 training sessions for 60 organizations welcoming volunteers. Overall in France, Romania and UK, more than 200 volunteers have been supported to identify their competences thanks to the path developed in EuroVIP Portfolio.
Engage companies
Because valorizing volunteering on the labor market would not be possible without reaching the recruiters, the EUROVIP consortium developed a guide to inform recruiters on the profile of volunteers, the competences they generally developed and how are those transferable to the world of work. This was also the occasion to collect and spread good practices of companies already engaged in this process. The guide was presented to 60 companies in Romania, France and in the UK.
Reach stakeholders
In order to valorize the inspiring activities led under the experimentation, and to create future synergies, success stories of volunteering have been gathered in a book to shed the light on positive cases. The book not only gives concrete examples but also includes political recommendations to better take into account the value of the volunteering sector.
